Pentagonal symmetry (5) is rooted deep within us and found in many living things and the way they grow. Even our hands have pentagonal symmetry.
When a child does a high five greeting perhaps they are feeling we are all designed the same and let’s recognise that, instead of the differences that divide us.
Proposal for a Y5 book and Children’s Game
The idea behind the book is that if people can identify not as a nationality, or a job, or a religion, or a political persuasion, or even a sexual preference, we can resolve conflict between people.
This is proposing a new identity – one that nature has built into our design as human beings. The five-fold symmetry, the proportions of the body that relate to the pentagon and the fibonacci series, the five senses etc.
